Frequently Asked Questions

Administrative Matters

1. Will there be a change to the time of services?

Thankfully, there are no changes! Service will start at 830am or 1030am depending on whichever service you usually attend. The duration of the service remains roughly the same.

2. What if I usually attend the 830 or 1030 service and decide to go for the other timing in one of the weeks?

While it will be nice to grow within your same group throughout the 5 weeks of study, we understand that your schedules might differ each week. If you have to attend the service which is not the regular time you attend, please contact Chung Hwa, Timothy Phua, Michael Tham or Pastor Kuo Yung to arrange for an alternative group for that week.

3. How do I know which group I am in?

You can go to our grouping page here. However, if you are unable to locate your name in any of the groups, we apologize that we might have missed you out. Please contact us here and fill in your full name and state that you were not placed in any group. KPC hopes to assist you ASAP.

4. What if I do not feel comfortable in the group I am placed in? Can I request for a change of group/leader?

We acknowledge that you might not feel comfortable in certain group dynamics. However, KPC encourages all our members to meet new people and form close friendships in the church. Coming out of the comfort zone to share our testimonies can be a good training ground to live out The Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20.

Nevertheless, should you request to change your group for whatever reasons, please contact Chung Hwa, Timothy Phua, Michael Tham or Pastor Kuo Yung.

5. What will my newcomer friends be doing if I invite them for service?

KPC loves newcomers! Nonetheless, we do realise that the material and discussion style is tailored for current church members to learn and share the Gospel effectively, which might not be apt for newcomers. Church members should know that the whole series starts 3 Jan and ends on 7 Feb 2015 and be strategic in inviting newcomers. Do inform your group leaders in advance if your friends might come in that coming week and state if he/she is comfortable with sitting in that same group as you. If not, there will be extra leaders to run a separate course for all the newcomers in a separate group.

Course Matters

1. What is Two Ways to Live bible study all about?

Two Ways to Live bible study teaches you the essential truth about Jesus Christ and God’s plan for us. It also equips church members to be effective Gospel sharers in whatever circumstance they are in.

2. Where is the material from?

The material is from Mathias Ministry, an evangelism media ministry based in Sydney Australia. You can find out more at their website here.

3. How will I benefit from this study?

At the end of the study, you should learn the essentials of the Gospel, a systematic way to share the Gospel using visual aids and develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. You will also meet new members and make new friends. If you take an active step to participate in discussions, not only will you be more comfortable with sharing your life but encourage other members who might be facing similar experiences.

4. Who else in the church is doing this programme?

As Two Ways to Live is a church-wide programme, seniors, adults, young adults and youth will all be going through this series. However, the Sunday school programmes should run as per normal.

5. Do I need to bring anything to service?

The programme does not require you to bring anything different from what you bring on a normal Sunday. The church will also provide you with the relevant materials. Just come with an open mind and heart to learn more about our God. Be enthusiastic and bring an encouragement to your group members!

6. Do I need to pay for the course/materials?

Just like the Gospel, the course/materials are provided free to you! KPC loves her members and wants to equip every single one of you to exercise your gifts for Jesus. However, should you want to give an offering, the service still collects offering the usual Sunday way :)
